A family in which everyone is mother, sister and brother. Mk. 3:31-35
Mark has told us that Jesus’ family found it difficult to understand his actions and his way of life, and they deduced that “He was not in his right mind”, so they go looking for him. They believed that God was only for the good of the chosen people. But Jesus is not crazy; He allows himself to be led by the Spirit of God who dwells in him and lives within a wide horizon, where everyone fits as children of the same Father, whose will is the happiness of all. According to Mark’s account, when they tell him about his mother and brothers, Jesus responds by widening his gaze: “Everyone who does God’s will, that is my brother and my sister and my mother.” Let us ask for that openness to the measure of the Father’s heart.
