Who Are We?

We are a response to the desires expressed by the Company of Mary in its recent Chapters and Assemblies to live in complementarity with laypeople in the educational mission.

We are a network of communities called together to accompany, inspire, and coordinate this movement in the various cities where we live. We recognized that our starting point was to strengthen our own formation in the spirituality of the Company of Mary. Through in-person and virtual meetings, we have been developing a growth plan together, where the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and formation workshops have woven our identity. Today, continuing this work, we share the reading of the History of the Order, Chapter Documents, and other books that reflect the charism.

We are men and women committed to serving others in fraternity with the sisters of the Company of Mary, who are our companions on this journey and mission.

As members of the Lay Network of Colombia, we feel called to accompany, inspire, and coordinate this movement in the different cities where we live.

Organization and Operation

• A sister appointed by the Provincial Team accompanies and energizes the formation process.
• A commission, part of the organizational structure of the province, consists of the coordinating sister and three laypeople from the national team.
• A national animation team of eleven laypeople from different regions energizes the local lay groups.
• Local communities are formed by people who may or may not be linked to the works of the Company of Mary, whether insertion works or schools.

Each year, we create an operational plan that includes activities, formation processes, Spiritual Exercises, and assemblies.
