“All my dedication to the service of the building of the Kingdom.” Lk. 19:11-28
With the expectation of the coming of the Kingdom, Jesus narrates the parable of the man who, on leaving for a distant country to be named king, calls his workers and gives a sum of money, so that they can work it and make it produce. The parable is the forceful invitation to work for the Kingdom, where social justice for the most excluded – victims of great genocides – are our favorites. Jesus calls us again to work from the talents given, in joining forces for the transformation of realities of death into dignified life, from situations of uncertainty and darkness to fraternal communities of hope. Pope Francis has insisted on “Going out and taking the Gospel”…on being a Church “that goes out” towards existential borders. To be Church, a field hospital.
Are we giving all our efforts to Kingdom building?
