“Have you not read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?” Lk. 6:1-5
Sometimes something similar happens to us such as that of the Pharisees of whom the Gospel speaks to us today. We are uncomfortable in ways that do not seem to us the most appropriate. Today Jesus teaches us, through his attitude, the value of freedom that we sometimes need so badly. In a moment of conversation with Him, let us recognize those situations in which we judge from our perspective, from our narrow-mindedness and, if we consider it appropriate, let us ask Him to help us to be a little freer, a little more human, more like brothers and sisters. May it help us to look not at what should be, but that we welcome what is, what we are and thus we can act from charity, being masters of the Sabbath.
