“Getting into one of Simon’s boats, He asked him to take him a short distance away from the land.” Lk. 5:1-11

Today, the liturgy reminds us of Jesus’ call to Peter, wherever he works, where he spends most of his time in his day-to-day life. And it is because Jesus comes to meet us when we least expect it, in the most ordinary things throughout our daily life, perhaps in that which no longer surprises us so much because routine has made us lose the newness. Jesus passes by, without expecting us to aggrandize our lives. He knows us very well and knows how to get into our boat. Let us ask him to help us to recognize him today, on this day that He gives us. May we have the sensitivity to discover at what moment or through which person He makes himself present to us so that, starting from that encounter, we decide to follow him from the concreteness of our lives.
