LIGHT

The lights have already been placed in the houses and in the streets, the ornaments have been dusted off and the homes are decorated for a party. In the manger there is a special place reserved for Jesus, the Light that conquers the darkness.  “The Lord is my light and my salvation.” (Ps.26) He is the light of Advent, the light that restores sight to the blind and guides our steps in darkness. Jesus is the salvation that illuminates the whole universe. As we light the candles of Advent, may our eyes be opened to goodness and generosity, and may our gaze reflect the warmth of Christmas, the immensity of God’s love made Child.
