“Get up and walk.” Mt. 9:1-8

Today’s Gospel is very beautiful because it leads us to give thanks for those who do everything possible for us to recover. It says that Jesus, seeing the faith of those who brought the paralytic before Him, forgives him of his sins.

The teachers of the law again call him a blasphemer, but He, with the authority given to Him by the Father, tells the paralytic to get up, take his mat, and go home. The teachers do not admit that He considers Himself the Son of God, that He heals not only the body but the soul, that He makes those who have been paralyzed for years walk.

Let us ask Jesus to give us the strength to get up, take our mat and go home.
