“Lord, save us!” Mt. 8:23-27

Today’s text tells the story of the calming of the storm. The boat that may represent the Church is covered by the waves and threatened by strong winds.

The Church has many forces against her that try to destroy her: the links with governments, the imbalance of her affective life, the accumulated wealth, the polarizations, the inertia of comfort, and it is in the midst of these limits that she remembers that Jesus is life…He is her life!  And so, we turn to Him, to ask Him to save us.

In the midst of the storms that can suddenly appear in our parish, local, and universal communities, may we trust in the action of Jesus, who makes it possible for everything to calm down when we look back and fix our gaze on Him.
