Jesus prepares his apostles not only for his physical absence but also for living in communion with the Father. It is time for us to look at the paschal journey we have traveled since the beginning of Lent, a journey that must culminate in life “according to the Spirit.” We will soon celebrate Ascension and Pentecost. They cannot be just another date in the liturgical calendar. It has to be the experience of the gift of the Spirit that has been transforming our lives, as the life of someone who truly listens is transformed: “He will speak of what He hears and communicate to you what is to come. He will glorify me, for He will receive of what is mine and will proclaim it to you.” Let us ask through the intercession of Saint Jeanne for the ability to live according to the Spirit, as she lived especially in the great moments of discernment and decision-making in her life.
