Jesus proclaims the gift of the Spirit by saying: “When He comes, He will also bear witness to me…” Testimony is first and foremost a proof, an affirmation of certainty. The disciples bore witness to Jesus by laying down their lives for their Master and Lord. From generation to generation, we have received the faith through many witnesses of yesterday and today. We can make a list of those who have been pillars of our Christian convictions. The life of Saint Jeanne is one of these pillars. There is an old devotional painting in which the living presence of the Holy Spirit Is depicted. Inspired by this, Jeanne wrote to her daughters: “Be everywhere the sweet fragrance of Christ, so that your works and examples may glorify your Heavenly Father.” What is the inheritance of faith that we want to leave to future generations?
