“Lord, increase our faith!”

The Risen Jesus appears to the disciples and shares time with them, not in a glorious and triumphant way, but according to the image they had of Him when He was with them in their earthly life. We can only grasp the positive dynamism of the Risen Jesus through faith, which discovers him present and acting in the reality that we live, whatever it may be.

In today’s two readings, He discovers how the disciples are learning to find the Living One in his new reality, and they even find it hard to believe, given the great joy that it awakens in them. Then take your life today as you are experiencing it right now… or the life of those around you…and ask for the grace to discover that loving presence of God, who acts mysteriously through the rhythm of history. You will only achieve this with the eyes of faith. Ask for it with great humility.
