JOHN 5:31-47
“… THE FATHER WHO SENT ME BEARS WITNESS OF ME.”
Anyone who recognizes that God is Father must recognize that the works of Jesus, like those of the Father, communicate life to us because they are of God (5:17-21). The Lord seeks to convince the disciples that their testimony is not for themselves, but to bear witness to the Father. In this way, Jesus teaches us to strive to always fulfill God’s will, so that we can understand, little by little, that everything that happens to us in life must lead us to know God. Where we might naturally find the most difficulty is in trials, in pain, in failure, but there, too, we can accept God’s will. In the same way, He works wonders and miracles at every moment, in the life of every human being, but because of our lack of faith, it is difficult for us to discover Him. That is why Jesus asks us to seek Him with a simple heart and to trust Him, because even in the Holy Scriptures, everything refers to Jesus as our Master, Guide, and Redeemer. How do we make God transparent with our lives?
