Mt. 10:37-42 “Whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.“
We cannot ignore those words of Jesus that seem so harsh and demanding; they are simply a proof of the truth of our faith and our following of Jesus. Very easily we declare ourselves Christians, followers of Jesus, at the service of his Kingdom, but we run the risk of simply living a Christianity without the cross and a work for the Kingdom without renunciation or contradictions. Jesus was radical in saying that, if we want to commit ourselves to Him by following Him on His path, we must be willing to put that commitment before every personal interest, every attempt to do our will, even everything that family ties may demand. It is not easy to understand these demands, we can only accept them from a great love for Jesus and the conviction that we have been called and chosen to be with him and to be sent.
