“Joseph, her husband, who was a righteous man…” Matthew 1, 18-24
In this passage, Joseph is the protagonist of the announcement of the Birth of Jesus. The Angel appears to him in dreams and, through his message, a profound transformation is revealed in his heart. His way of thinking and feeling changes as he allows himself to be guided by the voice of God. This is also what happens in our lives when we have an authentic spiritual experience because it does not remain a vague idea or a fleeting emotion, but is transformed into actions, visible gestures of love, justice, and mercy. This path, typical of Advent, is intertwined with the emotions of December: family, friends, memories, and celebrations. In the midst of all this, the gift we can offer is our attitude of conversion, the fruit of an interior life. Love…what has it transformed and is transforming in us? Do we maintain this spirit of conversion and tenderness throughout the year?
