“Take up your Cross and follow me.” (Luke 14:25-33)
Jesus counts on our YES to help him in building up the Kingdom. This is a path that has blessings and satisfactions, but it also has demands: “To carry the Cross implies, like the king and the builder, to calculate and foresee the resources, but also to measure the forces necessary to be a courageous and creative response in the proclamation of the Good News. To carry the Cross is to give a generous and free yes, where the greatest demand is the renunciation of the family, in order to attend to the Lord’s call to availability. “The true Cross of Jesus is to be rejected by the leaders of the people and to appear guilty before everyone, precisely because of his fidelity to the Father and his liberating love for all people”. (Pagola). Let us pray for religious and lay vocations, for a Synodal Church.
