COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED,

AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Matthew 11:28-30

The Gospel passage of Matthew delves into this idea of resting our life in God. The yoke of the Lord is very different from the yokes of the rulers of this world. The yoke of the Lord is bearable and light. The yoke of the Lord is an offer to those who want to take it. The yoke of the Lord is to do his will and not our will, it is to do what God proposes to us in daily life and not what we want.

The will of God, which is our yoke, is light, gentle, and full of love. Learn to be like Jesus, meek and humble; enter into his meekness and humility by contemplating his work. The yoke of Jesus is a yoke of love and, therefore, a guarantee of rest. We were created by God to love and be loved. Learn to be like Jesus meek and humble by contemplating his work.
