“My soul thirsts for the living God.” Ps. 41
Today we end the month of missions and the liturgy recharges our hearts with hope. Saint Paul says that in life or in death Christ will be glorified in his body. These words can only be expressed by a heart that is totally confident in the One who has given it life and has led it to live unimagined and full, even in tribulations. In short, a heart totally passionate about the Lord Jesus. The Psalmist declares that his feeling towards God is similar to the thirst that only the living God can quench when he allows him to see his face. We could say that these feelings are the same as those of missionaries who go around the world, inspiring those they meet on the roads with that passion that invites them to go beyond what is known, to make known those who have filled their lives with meaning. Let us ask the Lord to give us a missionary passion as well, to make his love known to those with whom we share life.
