“For my yoke is bearable, and my burden is light.” Mt. 11:25-30
Today, we celebrate Saint Teresa of Jesus. It is very valuable that in the Church we remember the lives of those people who decided to follow Jesus radically in the midst of their personal and social realities. Saint Teresa was a woman who left several writings wanting to transmit what she was discovering on the path of following Jesus. One of her poems talks about how she feels that she belongs to the Lord and expresses that it does not matter what moment of life she is going through if she is certain that it is the Lord who allows her to live these experiences, because what she seeks is to do God’s will. We could relate this way of understanding life to the Ignatian indifference that we try to live in the Company of Mary…that which leads us to want to seek and live God’s will with the certainty of his constant company. Living what I consider to be God’s will, do I find the burden light?
