“You will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” Jn. 1:47-51

On the Feast of the Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, we remember that God is not distant but is in continuous communication with us. Jesus presents himself to Nathanael as that definitive bridge between heaven and earth. God’s presence accompanies us, defends us (Michael), announces the Good News (Gabriel), and heals us along the way (Raphael). Do our unbelief and cynicism prevent us from seeing the “open heavens” and God’s loving action in everyday life? Let us ask Jesus to help us discover how to be messengers of peace, of harmony for others and how to be protectors and creators of life as true angels on earth.
