“The virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel.” Mt. 1:1-16, 18-23

Today we celebrate the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, the dawn that announces the arrival of the Sun of Justice, our Savior. In her smallness and availability, God found the perfect space to become “Emmanuel”, God with us. The life of the Child Mary is a constant invitation to confidence, harmony, and total openness to the mysteries of the Father. Do we find it difficult today to say “yes” to the unexpected that God presents to us in the events of each day? Mary accompanies us on our journey; let us ask her to help us discover how to welcome Jesus with joy; that wherever we are, we may reflect the certainty of knowing that God dwells in us, that He is with us.
