“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” Psalm 22:1-6

San Ezequiel Moreno Díaz

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want”: this phrase from the Psalm is a promise of provision, rest and protection. We do not walk alone. God knows our needs, restores our souls, and accompanies us even in the darkest of times. Crossing the “valley of the shadow of death” is inevitable in life, but the promise is not to avoid it, but the certainty that He is at our side. The psalmist says “my” shepherd and teaches us an intimate, daily relationship with the Lord, not a distant concept. The invitation is that this phrase of trust and love is always on our lips.
