“Send me to come to you on the water.” Matthew 14:22-33
In the midst of the storm, Jesus approaches walking on water: “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid.” Peter dares to walk towards Him, but when he doubts, he begins to sink; Jesus holds him up and says, “O man of little faith, why did you doubt?” This passage reminds us that the Lord is always near, even when everything seems out of control. If we trust, we can walk in the middle of the waves; and if we fall, He holds us with His hand. Let’s pray: Lord, when I feel afraid or insecure, remind me that you are near. Increase my faith and help me to walk toward you, even when the waters are choppy. Save me when I fall, and teach me to trust you. Amen.
