FEAST OF ST. JEANNE DE LESTONNAC
“… You will be sad, but that sorrow will be turned into joy.” Jn. 16:20-23a
How the phrases of today’s Gospel illuminate what the life of Jeanne de Lestonnac was: challenges, difficulties, oppositions, etc., in order to be able to give the Company of Mary to the Church. Making this dream a reality was like a “birth” that filled her heart with joy and that of countless people who have received the light of the Lord through her. A work that honors in a special way Our Lady, to whom Jeanne, moved by the great love she professed for her, dedicated to her the fruit of her efforts. Today we thank Jeanne for her fidelity to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, who filled her with strength not to give up in the face of difficulties, as well as for the life and dedication of so many religious who have continued to nourish in many the flame of faith, the love of Jesus and Our Lady.
