“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.” Jn. 15:9-11

How much outpouring of tenderness there is in the words of Jesus that night of his farewell. He opens his heart to show us what is in him: “I have loved you with the same love that I have received from my Father.”  This is the reason for his joy, which is still not extinguished in that hour so close to his death. It is the joy of feeling very loved by the Father and of making ourselves share in that love. Let us listen in silence to his words; let us feel like him, beloved children. Let us gather in our prayers so many signs of God’s love in our lives, so that we can touch them with joy. Jesus makes a recommendation: “abide in my love”, as if to say, do not let it grow cold; How? Living each day without lacking that intimate, loving and trusting contact with him, who loved us to the end.
