“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats of this bread will live forever.” (Jn. 6:44-51)

Many people had a hard time understanding Jesus because He broke their calculating schemes. A God who makes himself a piece of fragile bread to feed us… It is a great act of love! The Eucharist teaches us that true faith and the fullness of life are in giving ourselves, in making ourselves small in order to serve. Today, are we aware of the tenderness that occurs when we receive Communion? Feeling Jesus so close must change our lives. Let us ask him to teach us to love with that same simplicity and depth. Wherever we are, at work or at home, may we know how to be “bread” and food of joy for others.
