“I have set an example for you, so that what I have done to you, you will also do.” (Jn. 13:1-15)
Today is the day of love that kneels. At the Last Supper, Jesus takes off his cloak, lowers himself, and washes the weary feet of his friends. It teaches us that true greatness is not in power, but in caring for one another with immense tenderness. There is no real spirituality if we, uncaringly, go past the weaknesses of our brothers and sisters with no feelings. Let us ask ourselves honestly today: what prides do not allow me to bend down to help those around me and others? Feeling that He also washes us of our weariness, let us ask him: who today needs my hands and my service to restore peace and unity?
