“Give me a drink.” Jn. 4:5-42

In Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman, we discover a God who avoids no one. Jesus approaches a wounded woman, a foreigner, singled out, and asks her for a drink. With that gesture He breaks down barriers and opens a dialogue that transforms life. Jesus offers her living water that is neither bought nor earned: it is God’s love that quenches the deepest thirst of the heart. When women feel acknowledged and known without being judged, their lives change. She puts down the pitcher and runs to announce what she has experienced. This Gospel reminds us that we all thirst for meaning, love and truth. And that only Christ can satisfy it. Where do we seek to quench our thirst?
