The Celebrations for 100 Years of Educational Presence of the Company of Mary in Pereira Have Begun

On February 6 at 10:00 a.m., at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Poverty, the official celebrations marking 100 years of educational presence of the Company of Mary in Pereira began — a century of mission dedicated to forming generations in faith and service.

The commemoration began with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass, celebrated as an expression of gratitude to God for these one hundred years of history, dedication, and educational commitment in the city. The ceremony was attended by Sisters of the Company of Mary, representatives of different religious congregations, Verbum Dei missionaries, Franciscans, administrators, teachers, students of Santa Juana de Lestonnac School, alumnae of La Enseñanza and the former boarding school, as well as various institutional and civic representatives who joined this meaningful celebration.

Within the framework of this opening commemoration, the Institution received a recognition granted by the Honorable Municipal Council of Pereira, highlighting the educational, pastoral, and social trajectory of the Company of Mary throughout a century of continuous service to the city. This tribute is a source of deep gratitude and reaffirms the transformative impact of its mission in the life of the community.

The Company of Mary renews its commitment to continue extending an educational hand, remaining faithful to the charism of Saint Joan of Lestonnac and looking toward the future with hope.
