Day VII within the Octave of the Nativity of the Lord

Saint Sylvester I, Pope

“In the beginning there was the Word; and he who is the Word was with God and was God.” John 1, 1-18

On this last day of the year, let us stop to recognize the passage of God in the midst of the events that marked the year 2025. It has been an intense time, with moments of uncertainty, fear, and helplessness on a global scale. However, it has also been a time in which hope has made its way, reminding us that the light does not stop shining even in the midst of darkness. Today’s Gospel offers us comfort and strength; God remains faithful. From the beginning of time until this moment, his Love sustains and accompanies human history through Jesus and his Spirit. How are we ending this year? What lessons do we want to preserve and share so that our lives continue to be a sign of His love and hope?
