“Will he not leave the other ninety-nine on the mountain to go in search of the lost sheep?” Matthew 18, 12-14
The Lord’s attention for us is constant and always seeks our salvation. He frees us from that which prevents us from loving fully; from the fears, selfishness and barriers that we raise in our hearts. The Gospel presents us with that shepherd who, moved by a generous and immeasurable love, leaves the ninety-nine sheep on the mountain to go in search of the one that has gone astray. His gesture breaks all human logic and culminates in joy; the joy of reunion, of love that excludes no one. Our faith, therefore, is not one of privileges or exclusiveness, but is an invitation to open our hearts to everyone, just as the Father does. What encounters fill us with joy today? How can we, from our faith, promote and care for the challenge of inclusion in the Church?
