“Have mercy on us, Son of David.” Matthew 9, 27-31

Two blind men approach Jesus with a simple and profound plea; May He have compassion on them. He welcomes them with tenderness, listens to their cry, looks at them, and asks them about their faith. With a confident “yes,” they open their hearts, and in response Jesus touches them. In that gesture full of nearness and power, their deepest desire is fulfilled; to regain their sight and contemplate life with new eyes. After the miracle, Jesus asks them to remain silent, but the joy of having been healed overwhelms any discretion. They cannot remain silent about what they have experienced; Their encounter with Jesus has transformed their existence. Do we recognize the action of the Lord in our lives? Do we allow ourselves to be touched by his healing love? Where does our joy come from today?
