“The Kingdom of God is in your midst.” Lk. 17:20-25

The Pharisees ask Jesus: when will the Kingdom of God arrive?, and Jesus answers: “The coming of the Kingdom of God is not subject to calculation because it is already in your midst.” The Pharisees were waiting for the Kingdom to break out in great and thunderous demonstrations. Today we can expect the same, live a faith based on empty prayers, acts of popular piety, and wait for miracles. The invitation is to make the Kingdom of God visible in the midst of the community, from concrete actions of fraternity, joy, listening, accompaniment, helping to lift up and heal from situations of oppression. Only through constant gestures of mercy will we encourage the growth of the Kingdom of God.

Among whom are we building the Kingdom of God?
