“There will be joy in heaven over one converted sinner.” Lk 15:1-10

Today’s Gospel has two circumstances: that of tax collectors and that of sinners who come to Jesus to listen to him. Next, Jesus enunciates two beautiful parables; the sheep and the coin that were lost. Jesus closes the parables with the joy and celebration that there is for the sinner who repents. Here is the encounter with the merciful God who is faithful to our frailties and creatively seeks to make himself encountered until we reach the moment for our conversion. It is also the Lord’s invitation to us to be compassionate and not to judge or condemn anyone, but rather to foster situations for encounter, fraternity, and reconciliation among all. What are the main traits of compassion that we cultivate?
