Lk. 12:54-59: “How can they not judge what is right”
In the face of so much social injustice that exists today, Jesus reproaches us for not knowing how to discern what we are doing in the face of what is happening to so many people and human groups who suffer exclusion, inequity and discrimination.
It is a call to recognize and discern in the signs of the Kingdom, in history, in events and in one’s own life, the presence of God at work, but it is also a call to fight in the face of the situation of injustice. It is a reproach for living distracted, busy, indifferent without assuming our mission as Christians in the face of so many voices that demand to be heard and have their dignity restored.
The time for conversion and the struggle for a more just world is now. God is at work in the present and needs a response from us with a willing and righteous heart.
