Lk. 12:39-48: “Who is a faithful and prudent steward?”

Jesus compares the arrival of the Son of Man to the unexpected break-in of a thief. No one knows the time, so the only valid attitude is the permanent vigilance that invites us to live awake, attentive, with a prepared and trusting heart.

The faithful administrator is the one who does his task, even if the master takes a long time to return; the dishonest one, on the other hand, takes advantage of the delay to abuse others and give himself over to corruption. True fidelity is tested in daily responsibility, not in spectacular gestures. Responsibility is proportional to the gifts received. The disciple who has received the mission is called to respond with greater coherence of life in his family, his work, his community. Are we faithful administrators?
