Lk. 11:15-26: “Then the Kingdom of God has come.”

Jesus states, “If I cast out demons with the finger of God, then the Kingdom of God has come.” With his presence, God is acting, liberating, healing.

Jesus reveals to us two very important things; first, that his mission is to bring about the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom of life and liberty that overcomes all evil. Second, that in this struggle He is the strongest. Evil may seem powerful, but Christ overcomes it with the strength of God. For this reason, He brings the example of a strong man who takes care of his goods, but if someone stronger arrives, He defeats him and releases what was being withheld. This is how He acts; He enters our history if we take it radically, defeats the enemy and frees us from everything that enslaves us.

This Gospel reminds us that evil exists, but that Jesus Christ is the strongest. He has already won on the cross and offers us his Spirit so that we may live in freedom. Let us reflect: do we allow Him to dwell in our interior home?
