SAINTS MARTHA, MARY AND LAZARUS

I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?. John 11:19-27

Martha the active and Mary the contemplative. It will be better to resort to the intermediate solution, since the one, without the other, does not hold…that of the balanced, sensible, prudent, mediating Lazarus. And Martha, going out to meet Jesus who comes to accompany them, complains painfully about this apparent abandonment: if you had been here my brother would not have died… Yes, I know that he will be resurrected on the last day, but… And Jesus reaffirms himself: I am the resurrection and the life. Do you believe this?… It is not a time for interior doubts, but for a clear proclamation from Jesus: I am… and a firm answer from Martha: Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ…

Am I like Martha who goes out in search of the Lord or like Mary who waits for…? Sometimes it seems that our faith is very poor, very weak, but, even so, do I believe in the great mercy of the Lord? Do I believe that the Lord came to give Salvation and resurrection to everyone who believes in Him?
