OUR FATHER… Luke 11:1-13

Jesus’ prayer, and therefore, Christian prayer, is first of all a leaving room for God, allowing him to manifest his holiness in us and allowing his kingdom to advance, starting from the possibility of exercising his lordship of love in our lives (Pope Francis).

Three other supplications complete this prayer that Jesus teaches us, the “Our Father”. Bread, forgiveness and help in the face of temptations. You cannot live without bread, you cannot live without forgiveness and you cannot live without God’s help in the face of temptations. The bread that Jesus makes us ask for is what is necessary, not what is superfluous; it is the bread of pilgrims, the righteous one, a bread that does not accumulate and is not wasted, that does not weigh on our journey (Pope Francis).
