FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS.
“I WILL LOOK FOR MY SHEEP, FOLLOWING THEIR TRAIL.” Ez. 34:11-16
It is moving to contemplate the love of the Lord, represented in the figure of a shepherd. The shepherd’s work is like that of a mother: attentive to her sheep, as if they were her daughters. This figure appears many times in Sacred Scripture, to speak of God’s relationship with his people. To let Him be our Shepherd, to be in His fold, is our greatest security. Today’s feast exalts the overflowing love of Jesus represented in the figure of the shepherd. Each one of us counts, in a unique and personal way; He calls us by our name. We are not just one more; that is why He takes care of each one, with unconditional love full of tenderness. Let us allow Jesus to find us, and let us live the joy of belonging to him. And let us remember that there are many sheep that are not of this flock (Jn. 10:16); and they cannot be invisible to us. how can we bring them closer so that they are also part of this great Family of our Father God?
