“DO NOT JUDGE” Mt. 7:1-5
It is very typical of us to make judgments and criticisms in the face of the actions of others. It is so easy to see the error of the other, but this attitude is so harmful in our interpersonal relationships. Jesus asks us to look first at ourselves and then see if we have the moral authority to point fingers at others.
A look of love towards our brothers and sisters, with the humility that makes us recognize that we are not better, that we also make mistakes, will lead us to another way of thinking and acting. Jesus tells us in every possible way that the action of those who want to follow him will be marked by love and mercy in the face of the mistakes of our brothers and sisters and the offenses they do to us. This will enable us to direct a sympathetic and forgiving gaze toward them. Jesus, the Master of life, has already eloquently set an example for us. With his help, we can live it.
