TRUST IN GOD.  Mt. 6:24-34

In this long teaching of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus touches on something very important: to what or to whom do I dedicate the best of my energy and effort?

Jesus calls us to put all our trust in God who, as Father, knows what we need to live with dignity. Putting trust in God does not mean passivity or “resignation” to things that happen. Trust in God means not making our cares an absolute, but putting an order in life, as Saint Ignatius says: “working as if everything depended on me, but trusting in God as if everything depended on Him”.

The cares of life cannot deprive us of our time to develop a close relationship with God. The force that will move us in the struggle of every day to give Him a grateful response for all that He is, is to listen to Him in His Word and to receive Him in the Eucharist.
