“YOUR FATHER KNOWS WHAT YOU NEED BEFORE YOU ASK HIM.”  Mt. 6:7-15

Jesus teaches us to pray with this short prayer that summarizes his Gospel. It teaches us to call God, “Father, Dad”, with that trust and affection with which we call the being who gave us life. He is not the terrible God of the religions of his time, He is not the God of peoples far from life, He is the “Abba”, the Father, who knows us, calls us by name and loves us with a love so overflowing that we can experience everything that surrounds us, and above all, in the gift of his Son.

Today we ask him to reign among us, that his name and his reality may be known, so that the brotherhood and peace that we long for may reach our world, together with so many peoples who today live the horror of war, injustice and the destruction of human dignity.
