JESUS PROPOSES AN UNPRECEDENTED CHANGE IN HISTORY.   Mt. 5:27-32

Jesus, in proclaiming the Kingdom of God, told us that the norm of coexistence in that Kingdom is love, from which forgiveness flows in the face of the suffered offense. Jesus shows us that to follow Him is to climb one step higher. It is not enough to be “good people” by observing the Commandments; He wants us to be holy and blameless in love…love that welcomes, that heals, that forgives, as He did on the cross.

Jesus proposes a change of mentality and criteria, to establish a new way of looking at and relating to each other. All this is possible when Jesus is the center of our lives, and we relate to Him in a personal and affective way. This is when Jesus has ceased to be a learned idea, a distant character in history, and we have experienced him alive and real, filling our lives with meaning and joy.
