JESUS, ETERNAL HIGH PRIEST. Jn. 17:1-2. 9.14-16
The Prophet Isaiah, in narrating his vocation, writes that he offered himself to the Lord, to be sent to his brothers. Isaiah is a prefigure of Jesus, who did not hesitate to welcome and surrender to the Plan of Salvation designed by his Father. Man, the work of his hands, had to be rescued, paying whatever price was necessary. This is our Mediator before God: in unreserved solidarity, to present us without blemish before Him. As Priest and Mediator, He has shown us the loving face of the Father, so that we may form that family dreamed of by God, united by his own love.
Today, let us contemplate the gift of Jesus, and like Him, let us say to the Father: What do you want me to do? With the power of his Spirit, we will be able to give him a generous response.
