TO BE SALT AND TO BE LIGHT FOR THE WORLD. Mt. 5:13-16

We have received the light of the Holy Spirit by the grace of our Baptism, to carry it throughout the world. However, it is not our words that must have an impact.  Rather, it is the witness of an integral life that gives love and becomes service. This is the life that is capable of welcoming and showing solidarity. It radiates joy in the midst of difficulties and shares its spiritual and material goods. That is the light and the taste which our brothers and sisters need. All of this will sprout, if we are nourished and sustained, by a very vital relationship with the Person of Jesus. It is He who gives “flavor” to our lives and makes them shine with His own light. Jesus is the source; without Him, our life will be tasteless and opaque to our brothers and sisters.
