JESUS PRAYS TO THE FATHER FOR HIS OWN.  Jn 17:1-11

It is moving to contemplate Jesus praying for his friends. He asks the Father to take care of them and to give them what He alone can give them: Eternal Life. And then He explains what Eternal Life consists of: knowing the Father and knowing Him, Jesus. The knowledge of God, with the help of his Spirit, is the greatest wealth we can have. It is so sublime that Jesus includes in it what Eternal Life means. We will never finish knowing God, and experiencing the immensity of his love for us. Today let us experience the joy of knowing that Jesus wants to give us this treasure and let us open our hearts to receive it.

Today’s invitation is to remain constant on this path that we have undertaken to know and follow him and that, as his friends, we may be very united with him, and through him, with our brothers and sisters.
