Fifth Week of Easter

“My peace I give to you.” Jn. 14:27.

From the beginning of this chapter of John, Jesus has not stopped giving great promises to his disciples. And today He promises them something that the world desperately seeks: peace. Peace was a longing of the Jews since they had lived for years in war and subjected to different Gentile nations. However, they expected the Messiah to establish peace in Israel through military domination and the establishment of his kingdom, but the truth is that the peace that Jesus brought was very different from what they expected.

Today the world is troubled by so many worries and fears, but the Lord offers us that security and serenity that we so desperately need, his perfect peace.

Let us pray today for the PEACE IN THE WORLD!!!
