In this long diatribe of Jesus with the Jews, Jesus clearly shows how his life has no other reason for being than to fulfill the mission for which He has been sent, and that mission is none other than to give life to those who want to receive it. And although the Father has given Him the power to judge, He does not trust His own judgment, but listens to the Father with the conviction that He has not come to do His will but the Will of Him who sent Him. And in all this Jesus speaks and acts with absolute freedom, He does not rely on any human witness, He does not need to be endorsed by anyone, his constant relationship with the Father is what gives him security and what makes his works those that speak for him.
