“He has done everything well.” Mk. 7:31-37
Mark presents the healing that Jesus does to a deaf-mute, with an unusual gesture: He separates him from the people and alone touches his ears, his tongue, and with a groan He orders them to open. Today the Lord invites us to review our deafness caused by feelings of resentment, vanity, interest in superfluous things, among others, which prevent us from listening to God, from listening to his Word, depriving us of a spiritual experience that moves and transforms us. He invites us to live a true faith, which allows us to discover God in life and bear witness to his love. Let us ask Jesus today to realize this gesture with us as well, which will enable us to listen and to proclaim his Word in witness wherever we are, with whom we share our lives.
