“First the precepts of God.” Mk. 7:1-13
The Pharisees and scribes question Jesus because his disciples do not keep their precepts, as was the case with eating with unclean hands, to which Jesus responds with the text of Isaiah when in his time he prophesied, calling them hypocrites, because they do not really honor God by fulfilling his laws, rather they cling and demand that the people comply with their own traditions. For Jesus it is very difficult to remain silent in the face of attitudes that threaten the truth, against the will of God the Father. This becomes one of the causes of persecution against Jesus by the Pharisees. For us today, in our society, in our family, on a personal level, what precepts guide life, trends in the networks or imposed ideologies? What place do we give to God’s precepts?
